The 7th edition of the French Ultra Festival is from the 3rd to the 9th of june at th Fort Carré in Antibes. We are pleased to inform you that the three races in 2011 were so successful that we are offering them again next year. In keeping the 72h00, we identify ourselves as a true ULTRA organization. We are also planning on setting up a race between 24 and 48 hours during the 6 days. This is a new stepping stone in discovering a different approach to several day events. This is also an opportunity for our walkers to prepare and test themselves in a race which is similar to Paris/Colmar.
The Festival is composed of the following races : - The "6 days of Antibes" from the 3rd to the 9th of june 2012 - 140 places available - The "72h00 of Antibes" from the 6th to the 9th of june 2012 - 30 places available - The "48h00 of Antibes" from the 7th to the 9th of june 2012 - 30 places available
"6 days treadmill" - We are currently discussing the possibility of offering a 6 days treadmill race if enough people sign up. We will keep you posted in our "News" category of the possibility of this race.
We will stay with the same circuit as in 2011 (1025 m) and the same camping amenities along the"'allée du Poilu." This area boosted the race and gave the Alley a whole new dimension with all the energy and motivation along the race course. Unfortunately this year the rain and strong storms ruined the work that had been undertaken to clean up this part of the course - so the financial input that we made to improve it for 2011 was of little help. For 2012, we are reinvesting and have already taken the necessary steps to prepare the Alley even more by taking away most of the gravel and stones.
We are continuing to work towards an environmentally friendly event in 2012 in order to remain leaders as a part of the social, economic and environmental input. The organization were hugely rewarded with the seriously kept commitments in efforts during the 2011 event. We are proud of all of the participants, volunteers for their success in keeping their commitments towards sustainable development. We are also renewing our "Sponsor a child program" as it was greatly appreciated in 2011. You will find all developments on this subject in "News".
Please don't hesitate to check out "News" and find out how the 2012 edition is developing. The "Forum" is available to exchange, ask questions, keep in touch with other participants and/or invite new participants, or simply tell about your experiences. Keep it alive with your energy - that is what it is for!
